The open pit mines are enjoying the softball games, especially since they beat the "Brains" 10 to 4 on July 10th.
Anyone interested in having a bicycle seat made, see Vasco Horn.
A number of the fellows have some grand fish stories to tell, but we never see any fish.
Louie Sullivan has solved the meat shortage problem at Mines Shop. He promised a ham to all the fellows who worked on or fixed his caterpillar, but "Chick" Austin does not believe it.
Since the OPA is out I think Mr. Lindsey has an idea to make his big money off a garlic crop.
"Frostie" Ragan and family have returned from Alabama. He reports a good trip and said crops were fine out that way.
Andy Spradley is very busy these days looking for "numbers." But we do not know whose number he is looking for.
Seems that Charlie Lippard has the secret number hidden away.
