LEGHORN, May 7. The Corsicans appear resolved to maintain themselves in their independency of the State of Genoa, cost what it will, notwithstanding the trouble certain Powers give themselves to bring about an accommodation. The army of the Malcontents amounts to between 18 and 20,000 men, besides a good number of engineers, and more than 500 officers. Their Chief is meditating a project, the execution of which, if it succeeds, will decide the fate of the island to their advantage. All the inhabitants above 16 years of age are to take up arms, and appear on the first notice at the rendezvous assigned them.
