HEATER HUNGER STRIKE IS BRIEF

Weston, August 24—Glenn Heater was given a jail sentence by Magistrate W. W. Chapman Saturday and decided to try the hunger strike business after inquiring from his cell mates the length of time it took a man to starve to death and finding the feat could be accomplished in nine or ten days. It is stated by jail attaches that Heater had not eaten the jail menu since he was placed in jail on Saturday. They informed him today that he would be taken out on the road gang Thursday and he decided that he had better have a little food so he called for and received his evening meal Wednesday.
