SEATTLE, Oct. 12.-(U.P.)-The costly clothing of a pretty auburn-haired young woman, found criminally assaulted and strangled, was modeled for newspaper photographers as police today continued a search for her identity.
Police also pondered the meagre clue of an unfinished application of fingernail polish, which they said indicated the stylishly-dressed woman might have been forced from her room to enter the car in which the brutal assault and strangulation apparently occurred in a South End residential district Saturday night.
No handbag or means of identification were found when her body was discovered by Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Evans on return to their home nearby. The body, showing marks of strangulation and fully clothed was lying in the roadway where police concluded she had been thrown from a speeding car.
Concluding that the woman was residing in Seattle, police sought to identify her through publication of pictures posed in her clothing by a professional model.
