The telegraph brings us news this morning of a brilliant victory obtained by "Stonewall" Jackson over Banks' column in Western Virginia. Though not stated, the battle doubtless occurred at Swift Run Gap, in the Blue Ridge, west of Harrisonburg, where Gen. Jackson's command has been posted for some time. The triumph is stated to have been complete, and the enemy routed and put to flight. Our loss was very small - fifty killed and two hundred wounded, the enemy's not known, though undoubtedly heavier.
Banks is effectually driven from the valley this season. Jackson's army can be speedily moved beyond Richmond to reinforce Johnston & Lee.
