Mormon War.—Col. John Crittenden, who was imprisoned by the Mormons, has been released and the anti-Mormons, 2000 in number, are only waiting the return of their agent from St. Louis, where he has been sent for cannon to storm Nauvoo. Captain Backenstos, one of Mr. Polk's appointments in the New Rifle Regiments, heads the Mormons, but keeps a respectful distance from the antis, whilst reconnoitering. It is understood that Gov. Ford has sent a Mr. Braman to Nauvoo, to arrest Major Parker and bring him to the seat of government forthwith. It is said that the said Parker has been assuming authority not delegated to him by the Governor. The end is not yet.—N. Y. Whig.
