Columbus, March 2.
In the House the following bills were passed: To authorize cities, counties, &c. to issue bonds in certain cases, supplementary to the law. Mr. Hughes (Democrat) offered a resolution calling on the State Auditor to know if any portion of the Soldiers' Relief Fund had been retained in the Treasury, and if so by what authority. By party vote referred to the Finance Committee. A resolution was introduced repealing the act incorporating the Methodist Church in Lancaster. A resolution was introduced defining the duties of officers of county agricultural societies. Also a resolution authorizing the Commissioner of Franklin County to levy a special tax for bridge purposes. The Senate passed a bill amending section two of the act relating to the duties of County Commissioners. Advices from Washington render it certain that Mr. Coggeshall will beat both Stanton and Nixon for the Ecuadorian Mission.
