JACKSONVILLE GATE CITY OPEN GOLF TOURNAMENT APRIL 12-15

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - (Special)- The Second Annual Gate City Open Golf Tournament set for April 12-15 on the Brentwood Municipal Golf Course is expected to attract a record breaking number of entries in local golf circles.

Over 500 invitations have been extended only to golfers all over the land and it is expected that the $3000 event, which is one of the largest events in Negro Golf will attract some of the best golfers in the game.

This year's tournament will be divided into three divisions-Amateur, Professional and Women's. The cash purse to be divided among the professional winners will total $2000, while the Simeion Purse of the golfers who play for fun will be shooting at $1000 worth of trophies.

TOPFLIGHT PROS Among the top notch golfers of national fame who are expected to participate will be Charles Sifford, one of the top professionals in the game and winner of over a dozen titles and tournaments; currently
