A bowling league was formed last
night at the Bicycle club house, where
representatives from the Bicycle club
team, the Elks' team, the Backus club
and the West End Bowling team, of
Wilkes-Barre, held a formal confer-
ence.
Edward W. Davis and John P. Hunter,
of Wilkes-Barre; Charles Fowler,
of the Elks'; Will Hopkins and Will
Weichel, of the Backus team, and
Captain Wardell and B. P. Connelly,
of the Bicycle club, were present.
It was decided to form a four-cor-
nered league, embracing these four
teams, the organization to be known
as the Northeastern Pennsylvania
Bowling league.
Officers were elected as follows:
President, B. P. Connelly; secretary,
John P. Hunter; treasurer, Peter Zieg-
ler, of the Elks.
A schedule was arranged for the
games to be played. The first is to be
played on the Elks' alleys, but between
the Elks and the West End team, of
Wilkes-Barre. The schedule follows:
Elks—West End Wheelmen, Feb. 6;
Scranton Bicycle club, Feb. 20; Backus,
March 13.
Backus—West End Wheelmen, Feb. 23;
Scranton Bicycle club, Feb. 13; Elks,
March 9.
Scranton Bicycle Club—West End
Wheelmen, March 6; Backus, Feb. 13; Elks,
Feb. 27.
West End Wheelmen—Scranton Bicycle
club, March 13; Backus, March 2; Elks,
Feb. 16.
