Mr. Rondeau, the British Minister at Petersbourg, is continually in Conference at that Court, on the Business of his Mediation. The French, tho' never ask'd to interfere, are resolv'd to interpose, and for that Purpose, have sent an Agent to Petersbourg, and give out, that they intend to post the Marquis de Bonac, to Constantinople.

This Nobleman was Ambassador to the Porte in 1734, is esteem'd a Man of Intrigue, and was concern'd in mediating the Differences at that Time subsisting between the Czar Peter, and the Turk.
