Extract of a letter dated Norfolk August 2.

"It is very sickly and becoming more so, at City Point, Bermuda hundred, and the other different landing places, on James' River.—Two or three ships have lost a part of their crews already, and on Tuesday night Captain Meader of the ship Governor Griswold, of New-York, at Bermuda Hundred, paid the great debt of nature. Capt. M. belonged to Hudson. N. Y. The sickness which prevails at those places is of a bilious character, such as generally attacks ships' crews up that river, in the summer and fall seasons."
