Vote Called for 2 p.m. Today
DETROIT, May 21 (A) Federal Conciliator James F. Dewey announced early today that a settlement had been reached in the United Automobile Workers (CIO) strike at the Hudson Motor Car Co.
Dewey said the union would call a mass meeting at 2 p.m. today to vote on the settlement terms which will not be made public until the ratification is announced.
The settlement climaxed night long negotiations at the offices of the Hudson company. Participating with Dewey were Delmond Garst, labor consultant for the OPM, and Frank J. Kolodziejski, state labor mediation board conciliator.
Company spokesmen said production will be resumed at the three Hudson plants in Detroit Thursday at 7 a.m., if the strike settlement is ratified by the union.
The strike, involving 8500 hourly-rated workers, was called last Thursday morning following a breakup in negotiations.

tions over a wage dispute. The UAW-CIO had demanded a 15-cent hourly increase, and the company had offered a three-cent boost.
The Hudson company has $10,000,000 in national defense contracts for airplane parts which were under production at one of the Detroit plants. Union officials said production had been maintained, but company spokesmen said work on the parts was impeded by the strike action.
