SOCIAL SCIENCE DEPT. ASSEMBLY

In observance of Negro History Week the Social Science Department presented a well received Assembly Program with students in charge.

Many facets of the historical advancement of the Negro were told through song, readings, addresses and a quiz segment.

Mrs B. R. Christian was chairman for this feature while W. G. Gilbert is department chairman. Other department members are Miss C L. Clement, I. N. Robinson Mrs. M. M. Thorpe and Mrs A. H. Washington.

Student participants included Sylvia Hill, Maryland Gay, Jean Brady Raymond Malone, Linda Cofield Joan Price, Jimmy King, Philip Lewis in addition to contestants, the chorus and band. Principal F. S. McClarin and assistant principal Miss L. S. Harris, were heard in remarks.
