For the first time in many years, we attended the celebration of this merry festival. There are in our estimation, no objects more beautiful and more interesting than spring flowers and good humoured children. And at Miss Reynolds's school room both appeared, in their native beauty and perfection. A very appropriate address, in verse was delivered by one of the children, after which, a crown composed of flowers, most tastefully arranged was placed upon the head of the Queen elect, whose throne was also beautifully ornamented with wreaths and garlands. Perishable it is true, but more to be admired than the most costly gems. After the coronation, her Majesty delivered a short response to the address. The maids of Honour, and Ladies and Gentlemen of the Court, stood near the throne, and the ceremony was witnessed by a crowd of home. Never did court or royalty revel, so devoid of care, in joyous and innocent amusement, for children alone were the actors. The spectators could not fail to be delighted with the order and good feeling which prevailed. Refreshments were both excellent and abundant, and at 10 o'clock the busy throng dispersed.
We learn that there was also a celebration by Miss Phelps's scholars.
