PHILADELPHIA, November 24.

A series of essays under the signature of Pacificus has appeared in the Virginia Argus, published at Richmond; they have been extended to 16 numbers, and discussed with much ability and strength the topics contended for by the English pamphlet called "War in Disguise," which they controvert with great force and success. This is the general character of the essays, on some particular points, we do not entirely agree with the writer; on some we would go farther than he has gone; but we should certainly think the essays well worthy of a re-publication in the pamphlet form--especially as congress will of necessity have the topic frequently before them--and the English government is expending considerable sums in publications hostile to our national rights, to the law of nations, the rights of neutrals and even of our national government.--Aurora.
