Full Text

It is suggested that in the Albany Argus, that Mr. Sergeant will sail from New-York for Panama early in June. This the New-York American apprehends to be a mistake; and says "The decision on the appointment was so long and injuriously delayed, that it would now be at the most extreme and unnecessary hazard of life that men from more northern climes should be dispatched to Panama, and we presume therefore that they will not go till the fall. The sloop of war Lexington may, we conjecture, be sent to apprise Mr. Anderson, that his colleagues Mr. Sergeant, will be detained here until that time, in order that he may regulate his proceedings accordingly."
