On Saturday, September 1st, the Greater Miami Welfare League gave a very enjoyable party at the Miami Beach Community Center, 23rd street and Washington avenue, to about 1500 guests.
Doby Bratman, as master of ceremonies, announced that 20 free tickets would be given to the final pop concert at the Miami Beach Auditorium with the nine year old guest pianist Susan Star as soloist for Sunday, September 2.
Leopold Anzig, chairman of the Entertainment and Civic Committee, announced that the tickets would be given to the following contestants: the oldest man, the oldest woman, the couple married longest, the parents

with the most grandchildren and great grandchildren, the youngest grandparents, the most recent marriage and the visitor from the farthest point away from Miami Beach.
The oldest man proved to be 81 years old and a good dancer; the oldest woman present, 76, the great-grandparents with 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, longest married, a 50 year anniversary on Sept 10, 1951; the most recent marriage July 16, 1951, the youngest grandparents, 41 years; the visitor furthest from home came from Kobe, Japan.
The Greater Miami Welfare League is to be congratulated on their public-spirited program of civic work. They are doing a great job.
