Messrs. Mills, Boyle and Ousley informed the
Legislature they could succeed well at the bar.--
Why have they not returned to the practice? Are
they so wealthy as to be able to live in idleness
without being paid for it?
It is still enquired without success why the ex
Judges happened to meet in this place a few days
before they held their mock court in the Bank of
Kentucky? Would it not be better for them then,
to account for this movement? Why declare the
people are so ignorant as not to be able to under
stand their own constitution! Do they not know
ignorant men are apt to be over jealous, and often
imagine there is something more vicious in a conspiracy
than intelligent men would apprehend. Had they
come out and let us know what were their aims the account
could not be more than what is in their power. If they
remain silent, suspicion will judge who lately held a mock court
in Lexington to be acquiring the name of the
government, and the court that of the Bank Court.
The presence is in reference to this place in
Kentucky, as our county called the Fayette
County.
