The following item was clipped from the Oasis:
Mr. J. Sresovich of Los Angeles, the well known fruit packer and shipper, came up from Hermosillo, where he has been three weeks, buying the coming crops of oranges in several groves. Tonight he will go to Tucson, thence to California. They will begin shipping oranges about the middle of November. The crop Mr. S. describes as being very good, and shipments the coming season will be larger than ever before.
The interesting part about this is "where will these oranges be inspected?" The dreaded Morelos orange worm must be kept out of South California at any cost and at all hazards. There is no more dangerous pest on earth than this same worm. It absolutely renders the orange uneatable, and the party biting into one of these worms will not soon want any oranges at all. The Citrograph.
The Morelos orange worm is unknown in Sonora, and cannot reach there. Its habitat is in the eastern slope of the Sierra Madre, and nothing comes this way which can bring it to Sonora.
