FROM THE BOSTON DAILY ADVERTISER OF YESTERDAY.

From Captain Lovett, who arrived at this port on Saturday, from Bahia, we have received an account of the insurrection at Pernambuco, not differing materially from those which we have before received. The leaders of the conspiracy were Martins and Captain Pedroza, who with a number of other persons of no great consideration, had for some time past, held meetings under the name of Masonic Convivial parties. These meetings were suspected of seditious designs in December last; but no measures were taken against them until March 6, when Martins was arrested, and an order was given for the arrest of Pedroza. The conspirators having before taken measures to secure the military, of whom it seems there was but one regiment, Martins was immediately released by the guard, and Pedroza killed the officer sent to arrest him, and also the Colonel of the regiment.

The conspirators immediately paraded the streets, with a white flag, and were followed by the populace crying viva patria. The Governour and the friends of the old government retired to the fort or the shipping, or shut themselves up in their houses. The conspirators took possession of the publick offices, and the treasury, in which were found 800,000 dollars in specie. The Governour having no means of defence, soon capitulated, on condition of being permitted to retire with his family, in a small vessel.

Things continued to go on with perfect tranquillity, and business experienced but a slight interruption; but according to the latest intelligence, the self-appointed Governours were opposed by the people of the country, and of the neighbouring districts. The Governour of Bahia had taken the most prompt measures to resist the insurgents, and had already sent a brig of war to blockade the port, which was to be followed in a few days by two other ships of war, one of 30 and the other of 20 guns. No symptoms of revolt had appeared at Bahia, but it was supposed that the Creoles were in favour of a revolution.
