CAR HITS TREE

A touring car crashed into a tree on Short Reach on Friday evening, wrecking the car and injuring a woman who was sitting on the front seat beside the driver. It was said by witnesses that the car was being driven at a moderate rate of speed, but that the wheels appeared to have caught in the trolley tracks at the curve and wrenched the wheel from the driver's hands. Before he could regain control, the car had left the road and hit the tree. The driver was not injured. The injured woman was taken to the home of Michael Ravalese where her injuries were attended to.
