Full Text

NORFOLK, July 5.

Jerome Bonaparte caged!

We now with certainty state, that Jerome is snug at Martinique, with three sail of the line, where he is blockaded by Admiral Cochrane, who has also three line of battle ships. This account we have from Captain Hudson, of the sch'r Patriot, of and bound for Fredericksburg, arrived here yesterday morning in 14 days from Martinique. Master Jerome, perhaps, has no objection to this blockade, as it may be a sufficient apology for him to visit some old acquaintances in this country; and of skulking home as before, under the flag of the United States.
