U. S. Senator.--Much speculation is entered into in regard to a Senator in place of Mr. Bell. Various candidates are spoken of. We are not particular in our choice; but whoever is selected, should be pledged to sustain the general measures of the administration, especially in relation to the U. S. Bank, and moreover, in the present stormy times, and when so many Senators are violating the will of their constituents, it behooves New-Hampshire to be sure to select one whose political principles are fixed and immutable--who has exhibited an earnest of his stability and firmness in the cause, and whom the democrats shall feel a perfect confidence in trusting six years.
