We hear from Medfield that Mr. John Allen lately broke out with the Small Pox, aged sixty Years: The Way he catched the Distemper he supposes was as follows, viz. The Man who lately had it at Walpole being a Relation to him, he went within a Mile of his Dwelling to enquire of his Welfare, having a Dog with him: the Dog went where the careless Nurse had put some Rags, &c. that had been used in his Sickness. and upon the Dog's returning Mr. Allen smelt something that was very offensive, and 'tis supposed he then took the Infection.
