A report prevails that an invasion in England is actually before this day. Eighty thousand French troops being absolutely embarked and it is certain that the united fleets are cruising between Ushant and Scilly, and that Admiral Hardy with the British fleet is put into Plymouth. Notwithstanding Portugal has shut her ports against all vessels of war, there are several privateers between this and cape St. Vincent, so that it is dangerous for our vessels to attempt to make the cape; cape Spartel or the Straits mouth would be most advisable always.
