BUSINESS MEN READ.
It ought to be unnecessary to call the attention of those who must bear the big end of the municipal tax burthen to any open effort being made in their interest, but it seems to be true that business men will as a rule suffer longer and suffer greater and make fewer exertions to bring about relief than any other class of citizens. There is not a business man, at least a Republican, who does not favor a change in the administration of the affairs of this city—many very strongly desiring it, and there is not one of them who is not aware of the fact that there has been organized in each ward in the city a wide-awake Republican club composed of energetic, enthusiastic men, who financially have less to lose than the heavier tax payers through any mismanagement of the city's affairs, yet it is a fact that dozens of these Republican business men have never been near any of the meetings of the club in their ward, either to encourage by their presence or advise with words drawn from experience. The time has now come for those who desire to see a Republican administration in Wichita for just once, to show some interest. We hope they really do not need to be told this, but only reminded, and reminded too that those who are at work and with less at stake feel their absence. Let every meeting under the next call be full to the end that no mistakes are made in the selection of the men who are to carry the Republican banner.
