Mr. J. C. Evans is quite sick this week.

Mrs. E. C. Wolfe of Boggs Wharf has been sick for several days.

Mrs. Everett Parks entertained the Ladies' knitting club this week.

Miss Dollie Guy is spending a few days with friends in Norfolk.

Miss Elizabeth Lodge is attending a house party in Greensboro, N. C.

Miss Paterson, of Richmond, is the guest of Miss Margaret Groton.

Miss Baron Willett is spending some time with friends in Washington, D. C.

Mrs. Rufus Brooks, of Norfolk, is a guest this week of Mr. and Mrs. C. S. Diggs.

Mrs. T. S. Hopkins was hostess this week to the Thursday Card Club.

Rev. J. Shenton Lodge is attending the Pastors' School at R. M. W. C., Lynchburg, this week.

Dr. Fred Van Pelt, of Oak Hill, W. Va., was the guest of Mrs. George Finney last week.

Miss Mildred Nottingham of Norfolk is the guest of her sister, Mrs. Grayson Boggs and Mr. Boggs.

Mr. Marion Childs, of Bryn Mawr Pa., spent last week-end in the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Nelson.

Mrs. Paul Walenta has returned to her home in Baltimore, after spending some time with her mother, Mrs. H. F. Parks.

Mrs. Henry Whiteford, of Whiteford, Md., and Miss Cecil Parks were guests of their mother, Mrs. H. F. Parks, recently.

Mr. Joe Wescott who has been attending Randolph Macon College, Ashland, Va., has returned home for his vacation.

The Faithful Workers' Class of the Onancock Baptist Sunday School met with Mrs. J. S. Gardner, Tuesday evening.

Mrs. Robert Bougle and children, Sally and Mary Elizabeth, of Elkton, Tenn., are guests of Mr. and Mrs. A. T. Tignal.

Miss Beth Schultz underwent a tonsil operation this week at the Northampton - Accomack Memorial Hospital.

The Euzelian Class of the Baptist Sunday School held its monthly meeting with Miss Blanche Watson, Monday evening

Mr. and Mrs. Littleton Hopkins, of Amherstdale, West Virginia, announce the birth of a son, John Parker Lee, on June 8.

Mr. and Mrs. William Ingles, of Washington, D. C., and Mrs. William Stockbridge, of Alexandria, Va. were guests of Miss Susan Fitchett last week-end.

Misses Sarah Ann Shield and Eloise Doub, who are attending school in Wilmington, Del., spent last week-end with their respective parents.

Mrs. W. E. Moore attended the commencement exercises of the University of Richmond this week. Her son, Mr. Edward Moore was a member of the graduating class.

Mrs. C. D. Johnson, Mrs. John Tyndall, Mrs. Forrest Belote, Mrs. Duncan, Mrs. O. P. Pazenby and Mrs. Clifford Barnes spent last Tuesday in Ocean View, Va.

Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Mills were in Philadelphia this week attending the graduation of their daughter, Miss Jean Mills, of Drexel Institute. Miss Mills accompanied them home.

Mr. Arthur Parker, Jr., who has been a student at the University of Virginia for the past session is spending a few days with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Parker.

Rev. and Mrs. W. R. Flannagan, Mrs. Harry Parks, of Parksley, and Miss Alice Rogers Causey are spending this week with Mr. and Mrs. O. R. Nelson in Rutherford, New Jersey.

Mrs. J. S. Lodge, Misses Gene Hardy Kilmon and Virginia Rogers will leave Saturday for Lynchburg, where they will attend the Young People's Assembly of the M. F. Church, South.

Dr. and Mrs. John W. Robertson and Miss Nell Robertson left Thursday for Wellesley, Mass., to attend the commencement exercises of Wellesley College, where Miss Sue Robertson is a graduate this year.

William E. Scott, of 711 Sixth avenue, one of the proprietors of Scott's Market on Eleventh avenue, was taken suddenly ill shortly before noon on June 10, and was removed to his home in the Altoona hospital ambulance which was summoned there by a son, Harry. It was said that Mr. Scott's condition was regarded as serious. He is a brother-in-law of Mrs. E. B. Waples.
