Full Text
Fortune.
Once upon a time a young man with a stout heart and a crest on his writing paper entered society and made a close study of the society woman.
"With a view to writing a society novel," he explained in a series of magazine articles.
But long before he had time to write his novel, for this would take some three weeks, his observations gave him an idea for a talking machine which brought him far more money.
Dear reader, do not scorn literature as a pursuit; it often leads to something better.
