Independent Citizens of Sandbornton—and you to whom this Circular is, or may be, particularly addressed—what think you? has it come to this? Are your liberties in such imminent danger, that you find it necessary to lie on your guard, to watch the movements of your neighbors, and to report their doings? and to whom? to JOHN TAYLOR!! That firm and dignified yeoman—that faithful citizen, whose honesty and fair dealing has been so long and so decidedly established! Yes, gentlemen, to this same JOHN TAYLOR, and to that long tried, firm and undeviating Republican, his SECRETARY!!! He who, from his youth up, has viewed Federalism, and those who once formed the Federal party, with lynx-eyed suspicion and distrust! Think of it, gentlemen,—and if you feel willing to be gulled, and led by the nose by such men, and in such way, why, so be it. It is believed, however, that few of you, who feel the full force of the freedom you enjoy, and the rank your town holds in the State, will find it incumbent on you to report your own doings, or those of your neighbors, to John Taylor, or his Republican Secretary.
