Full Text
The primary election laws should be changed to provide an all-party ballot, either all ballots to be printed on one sheet, or a provision that all ballots be handed to each voter and the unused ones be returned and placed in a separate box. When it has come to the point that a person may lose his job unless he calls for the ballot favored by his employer it is time the voter is protected. Even if the voter only thinks so without any foundation in fact, the mischief is done and coercion enters into the situation. The primary election should be moved ahead until in September and cut out this campaigning for a full half year. A third point is that the polls should be closed earlier, seven o'clock at the latest, and save the taxpayers some money. The editor also favors making the state ticket a non-partisan one, by leaving off party designations, but that is another story which we will discuss later.
