In a recent issue of the Times-Star Cincinnati, we find the following: Springfield can with perfect propriety boast of her three or four distinguished citizens who are fitted for any of the State offices. But the GLOBE-REPUBLIC says that "all of these gentlemen are standing on the defensive." When the campaign opens, however, they will doubtless be "offensive partisans" as usual. Also the following, which we think is true. A Springfield correspondent of the Ohio State Journal says "the average politician in Clark county" has not yet made up his mind about a candidate for Governor.
