SARATOGA SPRINGS, N. Y. JULY 12

The report published last week of the apprehension of a counterfeiter at Granville, with $800,000, in spurious bills, proves to be incorrect. Noble, the fellow mentioned as the informer, had suggested that a person was on his way from Canada, with the amount of bills above stated, and had so completely described a gentleman from Montreal, who was in Granville a few days after, that he was arrested, taken to Salem, examined, and found to have in his trunk $20,000. all in good money! He was of course liberated, and Noble, on a previous indictment, as a counterfeiter, was found guilty, and sentenced to the state's prison for 14 years,—Sentinel.
