NEW YORK - Eric Johnston, president of the Motion Picture Association, praised producer Sam Goldwyn for his "reaffirmation of faith in the principles of the Production Code."

Johnston stressed that the Code "like the Constitution of the United States, is a living document" and its regulations have been amended and reinterpreted from time to time.

However, Johnston was careful to point out that the principles of the Code are "rooted in the Ten Commandments which are unchanging and eternal truths."
