Simkins To Speak At UDC Meeting

Dr. Francis Simpkins, Longwood College history professor, will speak at the historical evening of the Virginia division, United Daughters of the Confederacy convention Tuesday.

A feature of the meeting will be the bestowal of crosses for military service to six recipients. Mrs. John Prior Cowan, district president, of Falls Church, and Mrs. John McKee, recorder of crosses, of Lynchburg, will present the crosses.

The sixty-first annual convention will be held in Danville from October 2 through 4.

UDC chapters in this section of Virginia are the Farmville chapter, whose president, Mrs. J. L. Bugg, is a past president of the Virginia division, and Appomattox, Chase City, South Boston and Lynchburg chapters.
