Full Text

The Legislature of Massachusetts adjourned on Thursday, after a session of nearly three months. Previous to adjournment, it adopted a report and resolutions, censuring the President of the United States in strong terms, for vetoing Mr. Clay's land bill. Now for consistency! During the same session, and about the same time, a committee was appointed by the Legislature, consisting of the President and five members of the Senate, and of the Speaker and six members of the House of Representatives, to tender to the President, if he shall visit Massachusetts during the present year, the customary hospitalities and the respectful congratulations of the State.—What a curious set of beings these federalists are! They can blow hot and blow cold at the same moment.
