SWEDISH VICE CONSUL KILLED.

Murdered by Unknown Persons at Batum, Transcaucasia.

Batum, Transcaucasia, Oct. 3.-M. Hager, the Swedish vice consul here, was mortally wounded while driving in a carriage in the outskirts of the city and died in the hospital to which he was conveyed. His murderers escaped.

M. Hager, who was manager of the Nobel naphtha works, is the second consular officer murdered in the last few months, the first victim being William E. Stuart, the American vice consul, who was shot and killed at his country place near here May 20.
