For the Daily News.
To the New York Seventh.
BY J. C. K.

The New York Seventh, the Northern taw,
Is monstrous drilled and drilling;
But lack the sand, the gritty craw,
And lack the knack of killing
We've got a few of Texas steel,
And with them Parish Caddo
We will meet them on an even field
And thrash them in a tizzy.
Two to one, they may have odds.
And all their drilled and drilling:
By all the fates and hosts of gods,
We will do the most of killing
We would not ask an hour's space.
To run them off creation,
Half that time we'd have a race,
And run them like damnation.
When they fight us, if we haven't sent
Three times their weight in Yankees.
We'll all agree a few to eat,
As Rangers eat Comanches
