Full Text
They are in the habit of misplacing the switch and every time a train passes that portion of the road it has to be stopped and one of the hands get off to see if the switch is right.
A number of empty cars are generally left at the ore dump at that end of the track and several boys will uncouple a car and amuse themselves by riding each other. There is no harm in this amusement, only that several times they have come to the point where the track commences the down grade and the car has been stopped by men who accidentally came along at the right time.
Should the car once start to descend the grade it would run very swiftly to Ham Light's station, a distance of about seven miles, if it kept the track, but as the curves are very short the chances are ten to one that the car would jump the track and roll down the hill and the boys get seriously injured, if not killed.
We give this warning to parents that they may look out for their children.
