THE RIGHT KIND OF INDEPENDENCE.

Gen. Butler, says the Lowell News, called upon an officer of the Middlesex (North) Agricultural Society in that city, for permission to occupy its grounds for a camp for his brigade. The officer stated that he would "call a meeting of the trustees and lay the matter before them."

"In the meantime," says the General, "I will by virtue of my authority, take possession of the ground and send the men there today."

Wednesday afternoon the camp was opened, and quite a number of men sent there.
