Full Text

Personal.

A correspondent of Judge Lewis' organ, a few days since, over the signature of "Plumas," took occasion to beslobber the distinguished County Judge with adulations, and accuse the Record of "endeavoring to pilfer from the public." On enquiring the author's name, it was ascertained to be Master Howard Burt, a contemptible poodle, employed to do the lying and libellous work of his masters, whose base and cowardly natures prompt them to shirk the responsibility. A more malicious and wilful lie was never uttered, and the innocent knew it when he gave it birth. This is all the reference that the subject appears to demand.

J. DEMOTT, Publisher Butte Record.
