Full Text

To Sunset Isle.
By Frank Monroe Beverly.
'Tis sweet to dream of Sunset Isle,
And watch the sun dip low
Into a sea of gold, erstwhile,
As shadows eastward grow
The mellow light of afternoon
Upon this island falls,
While all the year one balmy June
The aged disenthralls.
On Sunset Isle the purple hills
O'erlook the valleys rare,
And sweetly fragrance ever all
The softly pulsing air.
There gently beats the ocean's swell
Upon the sloping shore,
And casts a-land the pearl and shell
From out the bounteous store.
Oh, let me sail, as I grow old,
And sweetly dream, erstwhile,
Of all the beauties, yet untold
Of fairest Sunset Isle!
