Venice, Oct. 25. LONDON. LETTERS from Constantinople bring Advice that there has really been a Tumult in that Capital, as was reported last some Time ago, but that it did not last long, having been occasion'd by the News of the Grand Seignior's Death, which the People soon found to be false. Those Letters add, that great Rejoicings have been made in the Seraglio for the taking of Orlova and the Retreat of the Russian Army; but that the People express very little Joy on those Occasions, on Account of the Plague which makes great Havock amongst them, and the excessive Price of Provisions. The Grand Seignior in order to express his Satisfaction at the Conduct of the Bashaw who had the Direction of the Siege of Orscva, made him a Present of a magnificent Sabre, set with Diamonds: his Highness likewise order'd a Sum of Money to be distributed among the Janissaries employ'd in that Siege. The Grand Seignior has also made a Present of a rich Caftan, lin'd with Sables, to the Captain-Bashaw, for his taking the Russian Vessels in the Sea of Aoph.
