Where Do We Go From Here?

Election winners: have been toasted and the losers have been consoled. Plans for moving in or out of governmental offices at the Statehouse are progressing. Legislators are meeting and mapping session strategy.

This is the time to sit back and shape up a plan of action for ourselves. What is the important issue? Are major problems known to our newly elected representatives? How shall we secure some of the legislation which is direly needed? What do we want as a group?

Nothing is to be gained with faction pitted against faction. No individual can assume to be advancing unless others obtain benefits, too.

Our racial progress can be traced in most cases to group action--inroads in employment, education, and industry are direct results of cooperation. We can not reasonably point to a single man who caused these changes. Rather, it was some type of league, club, board, or association which led and continued the movement.

Our success or failure during the next two years is based upon our ability to end personal and petty feuds. The road ahead requires the combined energies of everyone.

Wake up and find out how and where we travel!
