APPOMATTOX, Jan. 1 - Bill Williamson, of Route 4, Appomattox, has been elected to serve as Southside Virginia young farmer president for 1962. The Southside Virginia area covers 14 counties and has 29 affiliated young farmer associations.
Bill has been an active member of the Appomattox Young Farmers Club for the past eight years. He is currently secretary of the local association and has served as secretary and as president of the local group in the past.
Bill was elected to serve the Southside area as its next president at the area convention recently held at William Campbell High School, Naruna. W. C. Dudley, area supervisor of vocational agriculture, is advisor to the Southside Area Young Farmers.
Bill had the honor of being chosen the outstanding young farmer of the year in the Appomattox Young Farmers Association. Bill is a general farmer raising beef cattle, tobacco, corn, and hay as his main enterprises.
