FROM HAVANA.

By the arrival at Charleston, of schr. Jane, from Havana, papers of that place to the 20th ult. have been received. By these papers it appears that several vessels had arrived at Havana with cotton, from New-Orleans, to be taken on board of French vessels to transport to France. Two Spanish ships, the Minerva and Atalanta, arrived there on the 5th ult. in 49 days from Africa, with 1070 slaves. One of the papers states that they had received certain accounts that the ports of St. Sebastian, Passage, and Deva, in the Bay of Biscay, have been declared free ports.

Extract of a letter to the editor of the Baltimore Telegraph, dated Havana, Jan. 19.

"Gen. Morillo has been some time here, penniless, powerless and friendless. Of his armistice with Bolivar you must have heard. It excited so much indignation among the Spaniards that his life was in danger, and he yesterday fled in disguise from the city in the British brig Blucher for London."
