Cadiz, June 26. We have the following Account of
the Affairs of Morocco : Muley Abdallah's Party has
had the Address to become Superior to that of Muley-Ali's; and the Former of those Princes forcibly took out of Sanctuary Bashaw Selim Tequelly, who was General of the Blacks of Muley-Ali's Party: The Bashaw's Four Sons were likewise seized at the same Time, with several other Persons who were attached to his Interest, and were all conducted to Sallee under a strong Guard. Muley Abdallah came there a few Days after; and, the Tenth Instant ordered the Bashaw and Three of his Friends to be brought before him; he then commanded strong Cords to be twisted about their Bodies at certain Distances, in order to swell their Flesh, and then had the Inhuman Pleasure of killing them himself with Spears. Their Bodies were afterwards dragged out of the Town, and thrown into the Lay-Stalls, that every Body might be Witness of their Punishment. The Bashaw's Four Sons were present at their Father's Execution, and threatened with a still more cruel Treatment, if they would not discover where he had hid his Treasure; after which they were carried back to Prison. The next Day Muley-Abdallah left Sallee very early in the Morning, to return to Mequinez; and as he was leaving the Town, he shot Six Persons, whose Fidelity he suspected: This he did before a Multitude of Spectators who had got together to see him go away; and there is not a Day which this savage Emperor does not signalize by some Cruelty or other.
