A little girl, named Kruse, has been arrested at Philadelphia, charged with the murder of a child of Mr. Thomas Gillean. It seems from the girl's confession, that Elizabeth, the unfortunate victim of her cruelty and folly, came into the house and asked for bread and butter, and that after she had been supplied, she continued to make a noise and cry a good deal. In order to intimidate her, the prisoner tied a rope around her, and lowered her into the well, when the rope slipped from her hand and the deceased dropped to the bottom. She, the prisoner, being unable to rescue the deceased, became alarmed, and was afraid to call for help. The parents of the prisoner were absent on their usual business, and had left her to take care of an infant. She was committed to prison.
