MONTPELIER, Ind., July 20.—The citizens of this city are very indignant over the Fort Wayne Gas Company trying to lay its pipe-lines through this corporation. At the last regular meeting of the Council the company petitioned for the privilege of laying mains through the streets, and it was refused, but the company has worked on each side of the city, with their ditches ready for the pipes. The marshal has orders to arrest the first man who attempts to do any further work on them.
