Mrs. John Giles wishes to thank her many friends for the cards, flowers and presents she received while she was at the hospital.
Mrs. Myron McDonald had the misfortune to fracture a bone in her foot, one day last week.--Mr. and Mrs. Floyd McInturf and sons of New Philadelphia were week end guests of Everett McInturf and other relatives, and were Sunday callers at the home of John Giles and family.--Mr. and Mrs. Will Palmer of Bealsville were Sunday guests of J. B. Burcher and family.--Remember this (Thursday) evening is Rebekah lodge here. Everybody bring eggs, also some cream. Mr and Mrs. J. F. Dougan, R. V. Dougan and Elizabeth and Alice Fay Van Fossen were Sunday visitors of Mrs. Myla Van Fossen at Grant hospital, Columbus.--Mrs. Anna Newsom, Mrs. Grace Newsom and son Clyde were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Graham. Mr. and Mrs. McKnight and baby were week end guests of relatives near Marietta.- Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Kennard and son returned to their home in Cleveland, after spending the past week with relatives here and at Malta.- Mrs. Mildred Syphers of Peebles, O., is spending the week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Dougan.--There will be an alumni meeting next Tuesday evening at 8 o'clock at Penn township high school.--By order of Iva Gifford, president; Gladys Tompkins, sec'y. A good attendance is desired.- Mr. and Mrs. Neal Bachelor of Montgomery, W. Va., were guests of Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Bachelor. Mr. and Mrs. Russell Bachelor of Malta were afternoon callers at the Bachelor home.- Geo. Kennard had his foot badly injured Saturday morning by a hay fork falling and striking him in the heel.- Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Click and children of Killbuck and Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Barkhurst of Malta were Sunday guests of Jesse Williams and wife. - Mr. and Mrs. James E. Dougan and babe, Mr. and Mrs. Vana Dougan and son Gerald, spent Easter with Mr. and Mrs. Dalton Dougan of Athens.- Dwight McInturf and family of Macksburg were guests of Fred McInturf and family over the week end.- Mrs. Fred Williams spent last Thursday with Mrs. Chas. Williams and family.- Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Smith of McConnelsville were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. John Greathouse.
Hail Storm
Pennsville and vicinity was visited by a very severe hail and wind storm Sunday afternoon, which did much damage to windows, auto tops, etc. Some of the hail were as large as walnuts, and laid on the ground for two hours.
