Ye reverend seers! ye oracles of truth!--what subterfuge will now hide you from becoming as contemptible in the eyes of your followers and supporters, as you have been detestable in those of all honest and unprejudiced men for the baseness and perfidy of your conduct.
When, in place of abandoning the whole British force to the West Indies, and sinking both there in Europe under the treacherous shafts of insidious France, doubly envenomed American treason and malice, instead your infinite charity was pleased to prophesy that your disciples sent a part of the British fully sufficient to keep possession of usual cantonments in America, while detachment from them defeat the southern forces of the Continent, come the province of Georgia, and make Carolinas tremble, with the loss of men, notwithstanding the very gallant behaviour of your troops; and another detachment, after reducing St. Lucia, defeating the combined force of French Sea and Land, under D'Estaing, the then titular admiral of the Congress, threaten the extinction of that heresy ruin of the French West-Indies, in our the pious prayers of the puritanical saints.
—When in place of being buried by French perfidy, Great-Britain has got up a great part of the riches, Shipping between of France into her port, rerd by resentment at the breach conduct of her rebellious children, is preserving her whole force, without dissenting voice, to vindicate her right to justice upon those caitiffs who proved equally traitors to England and America, to Liberty, and to Humanity.
This King's speech, unpleasant as it appear to you, is a trifle so that which have reason to expect. Soon as it be known at home, that Providence has terrorised (or conspicuously in behalf of) New England. Of his Majesty in the justice of it and in the gallantry of his people and incensed as he expresses himself would not, when he pronounced it, have foreseen that his American army should join decisive adventure on this continent and in the West, nor that the rebel leaders should be led by fighting each other, and proud aloud by what a weak, base and candid scoundrels, the world has been and abused, nor that your paper the very soon below rag price. Why, Whig-seers and at least convey dollars into real money is soon as you for tomorrow it may be too late.
